Day 4
An odd encounter occured today. I walked into the bookstore and found him behind a counter facing the entrance of the door. He enthusiatically greeted everyone I was with (three friends), as we walked in. I immediately reverted back to my silly blushie state. I browsed the store trying to think of some sort of conversation. By the time I had mustered up the courage he was being bombarded by two girls speaking loudly and laughing often. In my head I twisted their faces into two little monsters. I think I'm allowed to be jealous. Quietly I strolled around the front of the store and waited for the two to lose interest and leave. However, they only retreated when a middle-aged woman took his place behind the counter. Feeling defeated, my heart sank, until I noticed him now in the music section. It took a little while to re-gain confidence but it came. I quietly entered the movies and music section and started to browse. When I had looked up from whatever I had been pretended to be interested in he had asked the standard "Finding what you need? Or just browsing?" I replied with a meek "Just browsing". In my head I then told myself to be brave. I walked up to him and asked if he could help me pick out something. He asked me if I wanted music or a movie. I chose music. He asked what kind of genre I like. I replied alternative. He then took me to an artist by the name of David Gray. He said he was basically a new Bob Dylan. He proceeded to show me the album he liked. I thanked him and decided to listen. At first I wasn't so sure if I liked it, but I didn't want to insult him. I made another lap around the section. Eventually, I remembered that I really wanted to find a copy of the movie "Rocket Science." Bravely I walked up to the counter and asked if they had a copy. Sadly, they did not, but it was okay, I just liked talking to him. I decided nothing else interested me and so I bought a book and the David Gray cd. During the check out another employee came and talked to him about sticking around. Since the other employee mentioned his name, as he gave me my things I replied with a "Thank you _____"
